Prayers Please

Please pray for my nephew Cody. I'm not putting specifics on the internet, the Lord knows what is going on. Just please pray for God to intervene on Cody's behalf very soon and that He will give Cody great favor at this time in his life. Pray for Cody's protection, and emotional and physical health. Thank you so much! Amanda

Another C

It's official; I'll be watching another person whose name starts with a C. Isn't that crazy? I currently watch Carlee and Collin and I used to watch Caylee when we lived in Ohio. Well, Carlee just had a baby brother and they named him Carson. He's so cute. I can't wait to meet him in person. He was 8 lbs and 2 oz. I hope he and Grisham will grow up to be good friends. Wouldn't that be cool? Grisham has another friend here already. His name is Isaiah. He is about a month younger than Grisham and I am friends with his mommy. We met at church and really have a lot in common. My boys are not going to have any problems making friends where we live now! :0)

Gavin's 9th Birthday

Today is Gavin's 9th birthday. He has been surprised right and left. His aunt Dee came yesterday and stayed the night and gave him gifts today. Then his great grandma Peg and his mamaw and papaw came today and took him to the store to buy a bicycle and a helmet. He looks so big on his new bike! We shared pumpkin pie because that's Gavin's favorite. Then his friend Samuel came over to stay the night. They are playing a PlayStation II game that we rented for them. We have a cake baked and we're going to decorate it together (oh so many calories today)and then we're going to watch a couple of movies that we rented. It's going to be a late night!

Gavin will be surprised two more times (can you say spoiled)? LOL When we go to Ohio we are having a party at his Grandma Barbs on Thanksgiving night. Then we're going to my parent's the day after Thanksgiving for another birthday party. No big deal really, just a chance for everyone who couldn't make the drive down here to celebrate with us up there.

If you want to leave Gavin a birthday message, his e-mail is gavinr11@gmail.com.

Grisham's Birth Story

In case you never got to see this, Aaron wrote the story of Grisham's birth from Grisham's point of view. I came across it on the site that we used to have. You can check out that site if you want to take a look back. It's https://www.babyhomepages.net/littlemelon/stories.php

Here is the story that Aaron wrote. I'm so glad he wrote it because you forget details so quickly.

Man, what a crazy trip it was coming into this world. All week long mom was walking around trying to get me to come out. She kept drinking this funny tasting tea, but that didn't help, it just made us tired. On July 26, we went to the mall to walk around some more. We ate some tasty pretzels, walked around Dick's Sporting Goods, then decided to walk through Sears. Right after we walked in Daddy joked around and told Mommy to jump up and down. She didn't do it because she didn't want to hurt me so we all kept walking. A couple seconds later I heard a pop, then Mommy said, "I think my water broke." Daddy ran to the counter and asked where the bathroom was. Mommy ran to the bathroom. She hasn't moved that fast since we went to Great Wolf Lodge 8 months ago. As soon as she got into the bathroom my room drained of all the water and I started falling down. Some nice lady made sure Mommy was ok, then we rushed out to meet Daddy at the car. We went and picked up my clothes and some stuff for my big brother to play with, then we raced to the hospital. When we got there my room started getting smaller and Mommy kept squeezing me. It made me very tired and the nurse said that my heart rate was going down. Mommy didn't want to take any medicines because she did not want to hurt me, so she kept squeezing me trying to get me out even though it hurt her a lot. She is so brave. Daddy kept rubbing her shoulders and telling her to relax and breathe. His job was easy. I really wanted to see Mommy and Daddy and big brother Gavin, but I couldn't come out. I kept getting tired while Mommy kept trying to get me out. The doctor came in and told Mommy to push, but if she couldn't push me out in 3 tries, we were going to have to go to the OR, whatever that is. That scared Mommy and Daddy. We had to go there and Mommy was very scared. The doctors cut her belly and said that my cord was wrapped around my neck 3 times. I think that is why I kept getting tired. They pulled me out and cut the cord and then I started crying real loud. They said "it's a he" real loud, then Daddy started yelling about him and Mommy having a son. Mommy and Daddy cried when they heard me crying because they were so happy, and then I got to see Daddy. He was so happy to see me, and I was so happy to see him, but they wouldn't let Mommy hold me yet which made us all sad. I got to see Mommy, but she couldn't hold me, then Daddy took me to meet my big brother Gavin. He really liked seeing me and was very happy. After that he took me to a room where they poked me, and weighed me, and measured me. They said I was 6 pounds and 6 ounces, and was 18 inches long. That part wasn't very fun. One hour later I finally got to see Mommy. I was so happy to see her. I love her and am so happy that she is my mommy. She is a great and beautiful mom.

Where did time go?

I can't believe that it's snowing outside. I am so not ready for winter. I also can't believe that Gavin is turning 9 in a couple of days. Where did all of that time go? Life on earth really is just a vapor. You should never take a single day for granted. I think it's great to write about life, and take pictures and videos because as you get older, you forget things easier. I don't ever want to forget many special moments in my life. I'm holding on to my all-most 9 year old with all I've got. I tell him that I love him every day. I still watch him sometimes when he sleeps. Even at this age they still look so much younger and more innocent when they are sleeping. Here's to all the memories you've made in your journey called life. Cherish each moment while you can!

Grisham says, "I love you"

Grisham said I love you at age 3 1/2 months. Isn't he so precious! :0)

Will be back soon

So, I had a bad day and deleted every thing I had on the internet. Anyone else ever had days like that, where you just feel like no one really cares about you? I'm not going to go back to facebook or myspace any time soon, but I will start writing my blogs again because it is such an outlet for me. I also learned that some of you actually enjoyed reading what I wrote, so thanks for letting me know. That really lifted my spirits. I'll be back soon with more! Amanda
